WEMBLEY BECKONS
Today sees a Hayes old-boy pitting his wits against a Yeading old-boy at Wembley in the Championship Play-off final. Former Hayes player Terry Burton take his place on the Cardiff City bench as Assistant Manger to Dave Jones while former Yeading hero DJ Campbell will line-up on the field for Blackpool hoping to emulate his semi-final hat-trick and propel his current side into the Premiership. With former Hayes & Yeading United star Josh Scott netting four in a semi-final to help Dagenham & Redbridge to the Division Two play-off final next weekend it is good to see the strength of the club goes far and beyond Church Road.
Good luck to all of them. (22/05/10)

TWO RECEIVE ENGLAND CAPS
Following on from their success breaking into the first team in season 2009/10, Hayes & Yeading United's Nathan Webb and Charlie Wassmer (left) have made international headlines as well. They have just returned home after being part of the England Colleges Under 18's National side that reached the final of the Under 18's International Invitation Tournament. After beating strong sides from Romania, Slovenia and the UAE, they narrowly lost out in the final 1-0 to hosts Italy. Nathan and Charlie have came through the ranks as part of the successful Football Education Development scheme (F.E.D.O.)run by Hayes & Yeading United and East Berkshire College. The scheme has already produced seven players who have gone on to play in the professional game, including Josh Scott who scored four times on Sunday for Dagenham & Redbridge in the League Two play-offs. JRF 2 LIVERPOOL LEGENDS 3
This past weekend, an attendance of nearly 2,000 at Church Road enjoyed a fun-packed day of entertainment and
football as a Jason Roberts Foundation Select side narrowly lost out to the
Liverpool Legends.
The JRF select side including Paul Merson, Jeff Brazier, DJ Spoony and Mike Mclean amongst others coped admirably against a true Liverpool Legends line-up managed by Phil Thompson that included the likes of Alan Kennedy, Phil Neal, Mark Wright, Gary Gillespie, Paul Walsh, Ronnie Whelan and Didi Hamaan.
An entertaining game with plenty of pretty football saw the Legends eventually win 3-2 with former Welsh International Andy Legg and DJ Spoony scoring for the JRF select side and Phil Babb, Don Hutchison (pen) and John Aldridge (pen) netting for the Liverpool Legends. (18/05/10) |

PLAYER UPDATE
With United retaining their place in the Blue Square Premier, Garry Haylock has announced there will be sweeping changes to his squad going into the club's second season in the top tier of the Non-League game. With a proud tradition of developing young home-grown talent, the Club will be exercising the options on the contracts of Daniel Wishart and Charlie Wassmer who both successfully progressed from the youth set-up to the first team last season. A contract has been offered to former loanee striker Steve Basham but he has turned that down. Meanwhile, negotiations are on-going with Tom Cadmore, Adam Green, Esmond James
and James Mulley for the forthcoming season whilst Scott Fitzgerald, Matt Ruby,
Chris Baker and Toby Little have all been invited back to pre-season training
with United this summer. The Club has decided not to retain the services of Simon Overland, Danny Allen-Page, Ram Marwa, Marc Canham, Robert Gradwell, Dale Binns, Sami El-Abd, Craig Watkins, Andrejs Štolcers, Jake Lovell and Justin Cochrane and all are expected to leave the club, with the good wishes and thanks for their service from all at United.
